The Find: THE Pants.

Sep 23, 2025

Last month, Faherty sent me a message asking me if they could gift me a pair of my pants. I said, no. The pants had patch pockets in the front and it’s never been my look.

A few days later they wrote again and asked a second time. This time, they explained that these pants weren’t just any pants. They were pants that are made to look like office wear and feel like loungewear. Working from home, I’m constantly on the lookout for nicer WFH attire, so I agreed to the gift.

And holy smokes, ladies. Faherty was right. These aren’t just any pants. They are THE pants, with the caps lock on like a 3:00AM Truth Social post.

Meet the Faherty Terry Stretch Pocket pants.

The day these arrived, I needed to dress for a meeting at Sloane’s school. I had not done laundry in several days. So I snatched these from the package, expecting nothing, and the second I put them on my body, I was blown away.

First, the material is so soft. Even better than your favorite sweatpants. Nothing pinches. Nothing hurts.

Second, the pants look like a twill work pant. Nothing would betray that they have so much stretch you could wear them on a 6-hour flight without issue.

Third, the color selection is sublime. Several hues are meant to look like denim. I asked for the olive, because they looked perfect for fall, and they are everything I hoped. I also snagged the Northern Brown (on my own dime) because I couldn’t stop envisioning how perfect they would look with a black sweater.

I’m going to be brutally honest with you: I would never have looked twice at these pants in a store. Like I said, I don’t wear patch pockets. But even my dislike for that detail cannot even touch how much I love these pants. (And how the back pockets perfectly shape the rear view more than compensates for the useless front pockets.) If you work in a casual work environment or struggle to get dressed for casual Friday, give these pants a look.

I’ve had the faux-denim version of these pants for 2 years and sing their praises to everyone! So comfy, so stretchy, so professional looking.

Ok, those look awesome. Will report back on if the ankle ones work for petites.

And lol re all caps. I’ll have to use that one on my mom who over-uses all caps and would be horrified by the truth social comparison.

Thank you for the report back on petites! I always love the recommendations, but as a petite woman I always struggle with “the” pants not coming in petite (and then when you hem them they look funky).

I’ve owned these pants for two years and as a short-torso and hippy girl myself, I avoid pants with patch pockets. I wear these weekly for work and non work occasions. So comfortable and flattering!

  4. Lexi says:

Just bought them through your link! Wasn’t sure on length, decided on the full length.

  5. Sassociate says:

What is the sizing like on these? The size chart only seems to list measurements for alpha numeric sizing, while these come in denim sizing.

  6. Sara says:

I just wish these came in petites. Abra– I think I remember you are on the shorter side– how is the length?

How do these compare to the Colette pants at Anthropologie? The style is very similar with the patch pockets and wide hem. Are these softer? I have a few pairs of the Colette’s in ankle length and find them extremely comfortable and was considering buying a pair of full length. These Faherty ones have some great colors that look more like my style, though! Hope they will restock some of those ankle length options.

Reporting from the land of petites — at ankle length these pants are perfect. (I’m 5′ 1″).

I just got my pair of the denim looking color. I love them! They do look just like jeans and feel like really high quality. The regular length fits perfectly on me (5′ 5″). My only small quibble is the way that my stomach looks in them – most of the images show the pants styled with a tucked in top/fully visible stomach and I am not ready for that on myself. I’m thinking a wrap-style top that covers some of the stomach area will be a good option. Anyone have another styling suggestion? I’m ready to get a pair in another color if I can figure it out.
