I took Sloane to her first day of school yesterday. This is the first time that she has left our home during the day without a nanny or a parent. It’s a lot to take in. But she grows up, and at every step, we lose a piece of her only to find a new one. May I learn to focus on the pieces I find instead of the pieces I lose.
Let’s get to The Jumble.

+ This video on the importance of positive self-talk was a sea change for me.

+ Is this multicolored fleece super cute or juvenile? Here for answers.
I’m off to see if the preschool has updated my daughter’s day in the app, and take our depressed dog on a walk. Can’t wait to pick her up today.

The fleece is super cute but VERY dependent on the styling, I think. It could be easily skew college but with the right look, it could be almost sophisticated.
There’s no NYT link π
First day at school is hard. I remember my daugther crying and then being amazed that I came back later to pick her up.
Family doc app – what is the difference between using something like Google Drive vs. this app?
Wallpaper – Pretty, but a little busy. I think I would need to see it in a few different settings. I also lean more traditonal.
Fleece – Not sure I love the patchwork trend but that’s just me. Although at a bday party last weekend, the girl teens were rocking patchwork jeans and chucks and looked awesome in them.
“we lose a piece to find a new one”
Thank you for that statement. My teen is a beautiful human being, but I miss seeing him more. It is as it should be, but it is hard. The piece that we’ve recently found is that he is very capable
I have not watched Kpop Demon Hunters. Love, love βGoldenβ and the rest of the soundtrack. Thank you for providing the link for me to listen to this song again π
I have a bold wild wonderful wallpaper in our small dining room and it brings me so much joy! Do it! You can remove it later if you absolutely hate it but your first instinct is usually right. And itβs fun! I bet Sloane would love a fun pop of color in the entryway too!!
Do it!!!!
I love the colors of the wallpaper but the pattern reads like an army of ladybugs crawling down the wall to me. Maybe a different floral pattern like this one: https://www.happywall.com/harvest-linen-vines-wallpaper
Re the GenZ article – I hate falling back on generational stereotypes in the office (I remember how us Millenials were talked about when we started working!), but I am glad to know I’m not alone in experiencing some really mind-blowing behavior from younger colleagues…
A young attorney walked up to our table at a CLE a few months back and just walked off with the water pitcher and two empty glasses. Never said a word. about an hour later, she walked up to another table, grabbed a tray of leftover pastry and just walked off. At the time, everyone was like, “Wow, what a rude person!” And one of the lawyers with college-aged kids was like, oh they don’t ask for things. I was floored. And he explained that either they figure if you’re not using it it’s fair game or they think they’re doing a favor by not letting it go to waste and that he has to remind his kids to ask before they take things because his daughter will just take things from his wife, like makeup she hasn’t used, because it’s wasteful not to use it. I’m still processing.
Whoa! I noticed my Gen Z colleagues they talk to each other way very casually, as if they’re college buddies rather than professional peers, calling each other “queen,” etc. Seems okay when they’re getting along but disastrous when not. Things get heated fast. Their level of comfort with casual communication and passionate confidence can be explosive in interpersonal relationships at the office.
I love the fleece but cropped? Absolutely not.
We use Google Drive for doc, but we have the Centriq app to track all of our big purchases/appliances (model and serial numbers, manuals, maintenance schedules, etc).
Smart! I recently had to find the serial number of the 20-year-old air conditioning unit on my roof. Took a lot of digging through my sloppy papers. I need that app. π
My partner received the Cadence travel beauty containers as a freebie gift in a tech box from some conference, and I was disappointed in the look and feel. While the magnets are strong, the plastic feels pretty cheap. Curious to read your review!
I think the fleece is very cute xx
The dress and the boots link are not working. I’d love to see some dress and boot inspo for fall.
Dying to hear your cadence review – keep hearing from paid bloggers that they’re great. Really want to perfect my toiletries kit and this seems like a good option, but curious if the size and shape work as well as they say…
Annoying, I went to repost and they’re both sold out.
Boo! That’s sad. π I’ll just have to wait for other inspo… Thanks for checking back.
