What says back to school more than a preppy navy blazer? Not much. This look is perfect for fall or spring. It’s tailored, yet approachable and versatile enough for professional or casual environments depending on the day.

Found on Pinterest, this look blends classic pieces with modern cuts to create a timeless look. I would wear this tomorrow. Let’s recreate it.
The Blouse // A ruffled collar blouse is a must-have item for this fall. Nearly every retailer is selling one, and they’re the perfect way to add a little something extra to simple looks. This Teagan Popover Top from Tuckernuck has an easy fit. (T-nuck is also having a giant sale right now, so pop by that if you have a moment.) I also like this top from Boden in a slightly brighter blue stripe. Plus-size? J.Crew has a solid ruffled collar top that runs up to size 24.
The Blazer // When I first tried on the Veronica Beard Dickey Blazer, I wanted to hate it. The way you want to hate something that costs more than you wanted to pay. But, despite the fact that it’s scuba material, it’s great. The fit is great. The comfort is great. You feel wistful if you return it, and just a little salty if you keep it.
Need something similar for less? Tuckernuck makes one that hangs just a bit longer. Quince has a copy for just $100, which they swear is the same.
The Jeans // Ankle length, straight cut, medium wash. Not too skinny. Not too wide. AYR has the best ones. Need something under-$100? Banana Republic Factory for the win. Plus-size? Talbot’s.
The Bag // Controversial Opinion: I hate quilted flap satchels. Hate. Doesn’t matter whose logo is on it. Doesn’t matter what it costs. It reads old lady to me. If you love yours, love it. It’s just not for me.
Instead, I would prefer a vintage Coach Turnlock or a clean flap crossbody. Brown would read too close to the shoe color. Black felt too harsh, so I brought in this brighter blue from Sezane.
The Shoes // I love that these slingback block heels are not bright red. The burgundy hues feel more sophisticated. Still a fun pop of color but more like bubble wrap than a champagne bottle. For my pick, I chose Margaux, who makes the most comfortable heels I’ve found in recent memory. Bernardo has a similar pair for less.
The Styling // Hair up in a flat Teleties clip. Big, chunky dome ring on the hand. Pop of light-wash berry on the lips.

Be still my preppy heart! I love blazers! I love stripes! I love slingbacks! TYTYTY!
Best Blazer ever. The price – not so much. I made the mistake of trying it on and now everything pales by comparison.
