I would love to talk about boots. My favorite boots are in my closet just waiting to be released into the world. But who amongst us hasn’t worn a pair of boots too early, only to find themselves comfortable on their morning commute, but sweaty and deeply regretful by early afternoon?
So, instead, let’s talk about some fall shoes that are still appropriate for warmer weather.

Mary Janes are one of the must-have styles for fall. This pair from Boden are still the best ones I’ve seen — modern, chic, easy to wear. If you need something supportive and comfortable, I recommend these almond-toed Mary Janes from Vionic. I also like this demure classic from Linea Paolo in six chic colorways. Wide feet? Try this Franco Sarto pair.

Low profile sneakers are it for fall. The trendiest neutral for fall is medium brown (cocoa, etc.). Textures are also popular — think calf hair, boucle, etc. But I always love a sneaker in a great color, these green Nike Cortez sneakers and these mustard yellow Gola sneakers.

Yes, platform loafers are back. Yes, I also feel queasy about it. But the younger generations have decided they hate everything about us except the clothes we wore in high school.
These platform prep-school loafers from Sezane were the most attractive version of this style that I could find. I would wear these. I would need a Xanax first to calm the high school PTSD, but I would wear them.
Want something a little less chunky? This Sam Edelman loafers have a fringe detail and horsebit accent but a more feminine look. These Quince loafers offer a sophisticate grosgrain bow as an accent.

“But the younger generations have decided they hate everything about us except the clothes we wore in high school.” I laughed out loud. Thank you for sifting through this trend for us.
We’re heading into summer here in Australia but on my (mainly unfulfilled) list for the past winter:
Green/brown suede loafers – not green or brown, but a light green-y brown – like a tan but a bit greener. Lots of options out there but yet to find ‘the’ ones.
Navy ballet flats – I have the madewell April ballet flats in a dark chocolate brown suede and they are perfection – comfortable straight out of the box and super chic on my feet. Waiting for a sale to buy another pair of the brown plus the navy.
Burgundy minimal loafers – one from a pinterest inspo photo but haven’t seen any around.
Black suede chelsea boots – I saw a pair on a woman in a cafe and they looked so good. Want to buy a quality pair so saving up.
