Now that many of us are headed back to the office, Ann Taylor’s fall collection seems to be returning to the retailer’s roots. The collection has numerous jackets and suits that are perfect for fall/winter, and a handful of lovely dresses. Plus, AT is having a pretty great sale, so here are my favorite new arrivals.
Who doesn’t love a classic tweed jacket? This one takes it up a notch with a braided detail. Wear it with navy, or with jeans, or with burgundy separates.
I adore this cheery sweater dress. No notes.
Burgundy is a classic fall hue. It looks incredible in this structured tweed blazer that would pair well with navy, gray, ivory or pale hues, like this lilac.
This smoky rose quartz blazer with matching pants is a great suit for every-now-and-again. It’s not a court suit, or a big meeting suit, but it is a nice suit for when you want something different.
Sure, this ponte sheath dress comes in basic black, but this misty blue is a wonderful option for fall. It’s a good stand alone dress.
These curved hem blazers are a modern option for the office. I love that I can wear almost any top underneath and it doesn’t matter because the odds I’m taking off my jacket are not high.

That blue tweed jacket has been dominating my targeted ads since it came out. This may be the final push to get me to cave 🙂
I purchased that sweater dress in the poppy color they were selling last season and it’s a real standout. Lots of compliments whenever I’ve worn.
Are people still returning to the office as in never came back from COVID times? I was back in mid 2021 so this still surprises me.
Smithsonian came back in April, so relatively recently. My closet hasn’t quite adjusted yet.
A lot of feds went from 1-2 days a week in the office to 5 days in the last few months. I have a lot of friends in the private sector whose in office time has increased recently too. I’ve needed a lot more in the way of formal clothing.
I think this is particularly common in the DC area (feds + a lot of non-gov employers mimic fed norms), but I know people in other cities with non-gov jobs who only recently started tightening up their RTO policies – like going from 2 days / week in-office to 4, that kind of thing.
Love these finds from Ann Taylor.
AT has been my go to for work wear for years now. The only brand really making reasonable things. My only wish would be if they made their sweaters out of more natural fibers–cotton, wool, linen. Their cashmere is meh, but I dont need everything to be cashmere. Cotton in the summer, rather than blends, would be great. I dont mind their poly blouses because they last forever (as I sit in a sleeveless mixed media blouse right now).
I recently got some suits from Ann Taylor and was disappointed that the jackets got snags within 1-2 wears. They weren’t cheap so I’d expected better quality! I really like variety of styles and colors AT offers, but I don’t think I will buy there again unless something is on a deep discount.
