Cyber Week Sales: So It Begins

Nov 24, 2025

I had such grand plans for last week. GRAND, I tell you. I was going to preview some sales, start Christmas gift guides, and announce some future giveaways (more on that soon). Then, my sweet, cuddly daughter came home from daycare with what her teachers described as “a mild classroom cold.”

I didn’t know preschool teachers were afflicted with a talent for understatement.

Sloane was sick for six days. She coughed. She vomited. She was hot, she was cold. Her nose produced more liquid than a post-harvest grape crush. And then, there was me, five days in, I went to Express Care for a chest X-Ray and was told that my “mild classroom cold” was now pneumonia. Even Kyle, who had yet to be felled by a daycare virus, succumbed to the disease (even though he’ll tell you that he’s “just battling”). Sloane’s nanny, a 27-year-old health nut with a Grade A immune system, was also taken down. And so I, to my never ending delight, was anointed caregiver to a household full of invalids and one small rescue dog who just didn’t understand why all her walking buddies were sitting on the sofa all day.

Parenting while sick is quite literally the only thing I truly hate about motherhood.

And so, as you might imagine, all grand blogging plans fell by the wayside in favor of dozens of midday baths, endless pharmacy runs, countless disco naps, and so many hours spent on Disney+ that they should be sending me a check.

BUT WE ARE BACK. Sort of. I have exactly 36-hours until Sloane’s school closes and her nanny leaves town for the holidays, so I took a personal day to catch up on living. What? Blog is life.

So let’s start by discussing some of the MANY, MANY sales currently happening online. Because nothing says recession indicator like every retailer acting like this is their last opportunity to make money before the world ends. But if you need Christmas gifts, wardrobe restocks, etc. this is the time. So let us not look a sale in the mouth.

Chord // If you have been thinking about trying this Mary Orton-led baseball cap line, now is the time.  The brand has 20% off many styles when you subscribe to their e-mail list.  I own three hats, including the light denim, and if I were only going to buy one hat from the sale, that would be the one.

Rag & Bone // If you haven’t bought the Miramar “sweats that look like jeans” yet, this is your sign.  Maybe I should also buy a pair for Sloane?

Cakes // Earlier this year, I realized that my postpartum bra size was never coming back and did a purge and restock.  Cakes came highly recommended by Caralyn Mirand, so I grabbed their sticky circles and their cleavage bra.  Both are a must-have for formal events and clothing that doesn’t accommodate a “real bra.”

Shopbop // Shopbop has sales so frequently now that it’s no longer the big deal it once was.  Regardless, 25% off (with code HOLIDAY) is nothing to sneer at, especially when some of the brands they feature never go on discount.  I grabbed this Alex Mill cardigan and this CALPAK cosmetic case.

Andie // The swimwear brand made for women with bodies not created by AI is offering 40% off.  If you haven’t bought the Malibu yet, you won’t regret it.

Soft Services // The Theraplush makers, may they feel the gratitude of my cuticles, are having a progressive sale.  So if you missed the Sephora sale for this one, this is a chance to grab gifts at a discount. I grabbed a couple of refills for myself and two gifts for friends to get to the 20% level.

Prequel // I have never seen Prequel on sale, ever.  But this week only, it’s 20% off with code BCFM20.  I may or may not have purchased a year supply of Gleanser.  If you need something else to toss in the cart, either the Scar Solutions Stick or their new Retinal Renew will do nicely. (Full Disclosure: I’ve been a loyal Prequel user for years, they gifted me the Scar Stick last month, and it is magic for still-healing cuts.)

Athleta // 30% off site wide isn’t unusual at this retailer, but I needed to repurchase these wide leg work pants, so I took advantage of the discount.

Rothy’s // Up to 30% off site wide.  These clogs are just as good as advertised.  They were my summer house shoes, though they seem to have survived into November.

Aveda // If this is your brand, this sale is for you.  Their Nutriplenish Conditioner is a longtime favorite.

Lands’ End // A fantastic place to pick up sweaters and outerwear at up to 60% off with code CABIN.  This fleece just screams Apres Ski, and there is no better waterproof coat than their Squall Coat.  Also, if you need gifts for parents or grandparents, their pajamas are awesome and come in plus and petite options.

Ann Taylor // AT has 50% off everything.  I bought these metallic flats.  I also replaced a couple of suits, because these aren’t often included in the regular sale.  I also previously bought this white sweater dress, which looks stunning with boots, and wish I’d picked it up at this price.

Away // Need a new suitcase? 25% off pushed me to finally buy Sloane a suitcase to match the luggage I’ve been using since 2015.  Also, while I am a dedicated checked luggage girlie, but Kyle prefers to carry on and loves this small, soft side carryon.

Monica Vinader // Does a cool thing where there’s a flash sale every day this week that makes certain pieces 50% off.   These hoop earrings are a universal choice, and you can add charms to dress them up.

Soma // Bra stock up season is here.  Soma has 50% off all bras and 30% off everything else.  If you live in a cold climate, these microfiber pjs are so cozy.  Also, I am consistently shocked by how comfortable this lace bra is.

Faherty // In addition to the best pants ever (styled here for Thanksgiving), Faherty also has a lot of casual pieces in their Black Friday sale section.  But if I had to pick one thing, I would grab this heavy, cozy, shacked-adjacent Legend Sweater Shirt for the men on your holiday list.  (Full Disclosure: Faherty gifted me Kyle a Legend Sweater Shirt as a thank you for a prior post I did, and he has, unprompted by me, worn it three times in two weeks.  It must be good.  We’ll see if he adds it to his gift guide.)

Current Body // If you or someone on your list wants a red light device this holiday season, Current Body is offering 15% off.  These don’t really go on sale, so any discount is welcome.

Nordstrom // Not usually known for its Black Friday discounts, Nordstrom filled its sale section this year.  This cashmere scarf has been a well-received gift in past years.

I maintain that the worst part of parenting is not when your child is sick*, but when you’re sick and your child is sick. Or when you’re sick and your child isn’t, for that matter.

*excepting kids with serious life threatening illnesses, of course.

You are a godsend! I bought two pairs of those Faherty pants on your recommendation recently and you were spot on. I was leaning a bit too hard on constant athleisure wear and these pants fill the sweet spot of being SO comfortable but also looking more put together. and now coming through with a Chord discount code? you’re like my own personal Christmas Elf.

so sorry about the daycare illness felling everyone 🙁

  3. Erin says:

I’m so sorry! Could it have been RSV? We have found this worse than covid and to some extent, flu. I hate the daycare virus roulette…

  4. Laura says:

How was the arch support and cushion on the Rothy clogs? I’m debating them but my feet are weird.

    • Ellepkay says:

The clogs make me super angry – they are AMAZING for arch support and comfort! So why can’t Rothy’s do that for all their other shoes?! Bought the clogs on Abra’s recommendation and have lived in them since.

  5. Kate says:

Any suggestions if you’re going to buy ONE suit, what color it should be?

    • Belle says:

I think it needs to be black or navy. I wear black the most, and all my shoes coordinate with black, so I buy black. Lots of people would argue a dark navy is best.
