The Mondays: July 21, 2025

We are still deep in mourning. We have been reading “Go Dog Go!,” so we told Sloane that Avery went to the “dog party.” It’s an easier concept for a two-year-old than heaven. But we all find ourselves still calling her name, still grabbing two treats from the bag for each pup, and still wishing she was here for her evening snuggle.

Now, to add insult to grievous injury, Sloane gave us all colds. A preview of things to come when she enters preschool in the fall.

We are surviving. I don’t even know what thriving looks like anymore. But, true to form, I did some Internet browsing this weekend, so here’s what I found.

I went back through the Anniversary Sale to see if I had missed anything during my first look. That’s when I found this Voluspa candle and diffuser set in my favorite scent, Goji Tarocco Orange. It’s a warm citrus that I burn when I need to focus.

I also bought some Creme de Corps lotion. I may stray, but she’s still the best, and I always come back.

Being from Montana, I was unfamiliar with the “beach sandwich,” until I read about it on Food52. We will likely make the pictured Turkey and Provolone Sandwich for dinner this week. Also, squeezing lemon on a sandwich? Inspired.

Give me a dress with a floppy tie belt, and I will replace it with something more substantial. So when I spotted this narrow knotted belt on Amazon for just $12, I snapped it up. I also grabbed this woven belt for summer dresses.
