Dare I say it? Could it be true? Is the Nordstrom Sale back? Sure, it’s not a return to the glory days of the early 2000s, but for the first time in a long time, I was (mildly) impressed. I even got a little flutter in my chest a few times.
Shopping the Anniversary Sale is a sport now. My Sister Made Me Buy It shared some tips, and the one that stuck with me was to download the Nordstrom App. Apparently, if you “heart” your picks in the App and they sell out, you will automatically be notified if they come back in stock.
Best Picks of the Sale // There are six items in this sale that I am really excited about:
- AllSaints updated the crossbody bag I use almost every day. The wider strap and modern hardware are fantastic. Add to wishlist.
- This collarless twill blazer from Nordstrom is superb. I will wear this with jeans and with suit separates. Also comes in black.
- Lizzie Fortunato made the most incredible Amazonite pendant necklace. It’s chunky and cool and makes any outfit feel more special.
- The covered buttons on this WAYF cardigan give it such a chic look.
- These lidded woven baskets make the perfect laundry hampers, and there pretty enough to sit out in your bedroom without ruining the vibes.
- This Camilla waterproof trench from Barbour is stunning. It almost makes me glad I live in a rainy place so I can wear it all the time. Almost.
Here are the other pieces that caught my eye (fingers crossed that they don’t sell out in the first five-minutes, but I am not hopeful). There are always some weak categories (I didn’t even bother with the beauty section this year.), but I was glad to see a few stunners in the mix.
Suiting. Finally, Veronica Beard made a pantsuit that doesn’t come with skinny pants. Glory be! This navy blazer and flare leg suit pant are definitely on my list. Need a winter suit? This asymmetric blazer from Boss is perfect for colder weather.

Outerwear. Coats are usually one of the best categories for the Anniversary Sale. If you need a new winter coat, there are always a few good choices on offer. This olive Ralph Lauren wool coat is so gorgeous, unexpected but still neutral (and <$200). This camel Reiss coat just drips with quiet luxury. And this double-breasted ivory coat is very chic.
Looking for a short coat? This shearling and chambray puffer is fantastic. I also like this felt jacket from Bernardo in ivory as a bomber alternative. Want an updated version of the classic green utility jacket? This Caslon jacket gives you a modern update, and it is an absolute steal at $59. Finally, this hooded cape raincoat is absolutely phenomenal. Talk about making a statement.
Dresses. I wasn’t blown away by the selection of dresses, but there’s always a category that falls short. But that doesn’t mean there wasn’t anything worth checking out. For work, this front pleat midi-dress would look perfect under a cardigan. This Eliza J dress is a really unique option in olive with a dramatic pocket detail. This floral dress from Rails feels like the 1990s in the best possible way. If your tastes run more Blair Waldorf than Alanis, this is the dress for you.
Sweaters and Tops. This Reiss cardigan gives stylish librarian. This Madewell cardigan is more relaxed and casual. I also adored this Barbour turtleneck with a slightly oversized, casual look that could be worn to work with crepe pants or around the house with leggings.
Need tops? This cotton long sleeve from Veronica Beard is phenomenal. I own it in a navy stripe, and snapping it up in ivory seems like a no-brainer. It’s a grown-up henley.
For work, I spotted this gorgeous Paige floral top with a subtle color pattern and a pretty fringe. I also spotted this pretty lace-panel top with a romantic look to it. I also love this jacquard top from Caslon that has a chic texture to it.
Pants and Skirts. This crinkle a-line skirt is going to look amazing with the ivory jacket from my picks above. This Boss leather skirt caught my eye; the soft walnut color is so chic. I can’t say enough good things about Spanx pants for making work from home look and feel good.
Handbags. This structured Teddy Blake handbag looks like a Hollywood starlet would have carried it in the 1960s. This blue and black Maison de Sabre laptop bag is impossibly chic. But the two bags that made my wishlist were both hobo bags — this AllSaints bag has the most unique details and this suede Rebecca Minkoff back feels like a vibe-y throwback.

Shoes. I admit, I didn’t spend as much time shoe shopping this year as I have in past years. Mom life has relegated me to a mostly sneakers and flats wardrobe, but in my dreams, I need these Bernardo kitten heels. I mean, how good are they?!
Also, need boots? These basic black kitten-heel boots from Paige are definitely worth a look. You don’t see many simple, sleek options anymore.
Other Finds. These smoky grey MaxMara sunglasses made my wishlist. Of course, this oversized scarf made my wishlist in every color because a girl needs options. And I can’t believe I have never seen this yellow and white metal bracelet from Monica Vinader.
Also, I plan to do some bra and underwear shopping. There is never a bad time to update your lingerie drawer. This Natori bra is my favorite basic. And these Hanky Panky boyshorts are always nice to find on sale.
Plus-Size. This Halogen wrap front blouse felt like the top you’ll wear to work a little too much. This NYDJ top has a grown-up floral print. And a friend has asked all of us to be on the lookout for these Eileen Fisher pants if we get to shop early, she missed last year’s pair and has never gotten over it.
So how did you think the Sale was this year? Improved? The same? Leave your thoughts in the comments.

Lol to Blair Waldorf or Alanis. Made me chuckle.
Are hobo bags back?
Coach made one last year that became very popular. So now they are back. The 1990s are here.
Yes happy to see a Veronica Beard suit that looks like a suit. Cracks me up that they still style it with a hoodie
At least it’s not shorts or skinny pants…I will take what I can get. Her signature is a dickie hoodie, fine, we can pretend together.
Honestly, the selection is VASTLY improved this year. I didn’t even buy anything the last two years! The suede selection makes me happy in particular.
We’ll see what’s left in 3 days, won’t we…
All I bought was a Wayb Pico…solidly in my (twin) toddler mom era. Lots of fun things to look at though!
