These Baleaf shorts are fantastic. The wide, stretchy waistband makes them comfortable. The length is short, but not too short (hello, early 40s). The deeper pockets let you store things without looking over-stuffed. And, bonus, you can wear them in the lake and they dry out pretty quickly.

I’ve been shopping with Amazon less and less as well. Living in a rural area, they used to be one of the few options with reliable delivery. Unfortunately, the delivery has been horrible lately. Items not coming for days, items showing delivered that actually never came, items damaged. It’s super frustrating!
Have you tried Athleta shorts? I just bought two pairs during their sale, the Retreat Linen midrise 4″ and the Midday (more of a hiking style), and they are both so comfortable and roomy for this larger hipped and thigh-ed lady. A lot of shorts tend to end up fitting me like bike shorts, but these are so comfy and flattering.
If you are looking for a close match to these – but with the built-in panty – I can vouch for the Korsa 5” from road runner sports. I have 2 pairs washed 1-2 per week for 4 mos (summer) that have lasted me since 2020. Some of the reflective bits have flaked off but highly recommend.
