Several times per year, I travel to Salt Lake for work. I go into my home office, and need to dress according to the firm dress code. It’s strange to go from bedroom slippers to real shoes, but it’s nice too. While I love a great dress, I get more mileage out separates these days. So here is one of my favorite office looks.

The Blazer // A belted blazer is a great piece. It looks so pulled together, no matter which pieces you choose to wear it with. This one from Twinset is a great price point for the quality. If you need more structure, I recommend this wide, white belt to give it some life. Need a less expensive option? The Drop has you covered.
Looking for a non-white color? This Aritzia blazer comes in several colors and is deeply discounted. Plus-size? Try this belted blazer from Land’s End.
The Blouse // A sleeveless shell with wide “straps” and a v-neck or scoop neck is a wardrobe work horse for any professional women. The shirts layer well under suits, blazers, and cardigans. They also look great on their own for a cocktail hour post-meeting or post-conference.
This one from Quince is a great option. It’s affordable, comes in lots of colors, and the quality is pretty good. They also make a crewneck version.
The Pants // I love the look of a white blouse/white blazer combo with trousers or a pencil skirt. Back is the easiest, but I liked the look of this deep olive Mango pant. It’s less stark and this color is a great black alternative in spring in fall (it lightens up black and looks great with earth tones).
Need a black pant? My favorite comfortable office pants are these ones from Spanx.
The Shoes // Leopard shoes are the unsung heroes of the professional wardrobe. Sure, they’re a tiny bit loud, but that’s what great about them. They take a quiet outfit and add some zazz. I love these flats from Boden, because the lightness of the slingback keeps them summer ready. For something under-$50, try Steve Madden.
The Accessories // If I have a blazer with a v-neck shell under it, I want a necklace that continues that neckline. This one from Mejuri is one of the best in this price point. And if you grab the silver-and-gold one in the same style, it can anchor a mixed metals look.
This is one of the easiest looks for the office. It’s also ageless and classic. Plus, if you need just a bit more office flair than yesterday, you can swap the pants for denim or these olive cargos. It’s a very versatile choice.

“Leopard shoes are the unsung heroes of the professional wardrobe.” So true.
Love it! I ordered the necklace and the pants to try this out.
Gorgeous!
Anyone know how Boden flats run? I’m an 8.5 and so between a European 39 and 40.
Love this post! I’m in a winter work wardrobe funk and this is very welcomed!
This look is such a great example of how classic pieces—like a belted blazer and sleek sleeveless shell—can create endless versatility for the office. The mix of structure and subtle personality really resonates. At Asaali Shop, we love seeing how others style elevated basics that work from day to night, just like this.
